    Fireclay is clay that is shaped, glazed and fired at high temperature so the body and glaze fuse into a dense, non-porous surface. Fireclay sinks have thick, solid walls, which is why a fireclay Belfast sink can weigh 40 to 76kg, and why they shrug off everyday knocks and heat.
