The Lostock is a Whitebirk exclusive: a main bowl with a smaller half bowl beside it, divided by a lowered wall. The small bowl keeps the tap free while the main bowl is in use, and because the sink is reversible you choose which side the half bowl sits.

Will it fit?

The Lostock measures 795 x 465 x 220mm (width x depth x height) and weighs about 58kg. Every Whitebirk sink is handmade and kiln-fired, so sizes can vary by up to 2% either way. Have your fitter measure the actual sink before cutting worktops or cabinets. As an apron-front sink it suits an 800mm base unit, and at this weight the cabinet must be reinforced or the sink supported on a frame.

Lostock, Fluted, Reeded or Linear Lostock?

All four share the same body: 795 x 465 x 220mm, 58kg, a main bowl and a smaller half bowl divided by a lowered wall, two central 3.5 inch wastes and no overflow, and all four are reversible. Only the front changes.

Caring for your sink

Clean with warm water, a mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth, then rinse and wipe dry. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool and harsh chemicals, and don't put very hot pans straight into the bowl. Whitebirk recommend Astonish Oven & Cookware cleaner for marks left by metal pans.

How big is the bowl inside?

The main bowl measures approx. 500 x 405 x 195mm and the small bowl approx. 205 x 405 x 195mm inside (length x width x depth). These are approximate figures, as every Whitebirk sink is handmade.

What size base unit does the Lostock need?

At 795mm wide, the Lostock suits an 800mm base unit. Handmade fireclay can vary by up to 2%, so your fitter should measure the sink itself before cutting the cabinet or worktop.

How heavy is the Lostock?

About 58kg. At this weight the base unit needs reinforcing, or the sink should sit on a support frame. Whitebirk recommend professional installation.

Which waste do I need?

The Lostock has 2 x 3.5 inch outlets, so it takes two 3.5 inch basket strainers, standard or premium lever, or a waste disposal unit. It has no overflow, so no overflow kit is needed.

What does reversible mean on the Lostock?

You can fit the sink either way round, so the smaller bowl sits on whichever side suits your tap and drainer.

Can I undermount or inset it instead?

Yes. Whitebirk say any of their kitchen sinks can be inset or undermounted with a support cradle underneath. The Understone Collection is designed specifically for inset and undermount fitting.
